Join us for 2 days of spirited debates, intellectual challenges, and the chance to agree to disagree.

Rules

  • the participants must be courteous to other participants, the judges and teachers.

  • the topics will be intimated any time before the event.

  • the participants must speak in turn. any use of foul/derogatory language will result in immediate disqualification.

  • The judges have the right to silence any participant to allow for fair debate.

  • participants can be asked to flip sides in the debate if required.

  • in the literary event, participants will be given topics on spot.

  • no electronic devices will be allowed into the venue for both events. if found, action will be taken by the school.

Event outline

  • The agree to disagree event has 2 sub-events: namely the Literary event and the debate event.

  • the literary event is open for classes 1 to 8 (category a and b)

  • the debate event is open for classes 5 to 11 (category b and c)

  • the students of category a can participate in literary event only

  • the students of category b can participate either in debate or in literary(any one)

  • the students of category c can only participate in debate.

  • for the literary event, there will be 2 rounds. the themes for each round will be given on the spot and can range from poetry, writing and recitation/storytelling.

  • the debate event will have 3 rounds, the topic for each will be given before the round begins. only the first round's topic will be announced before the event.

  • there will a turn of events in each round which can make or break your chances, it is completely  based on the participants' skill and knowledge to get to the top.
